These US-based organizations below have committed themselves to providing just that. This Giving Tuesday, consider showing some support to one or more of them:
Actively Moving Forward (AMF) – A national network dedicated to grieving young adults, providing support through coaching, virtual groups, and the AMF app. With college chapters raising awareness and building supportive communities on campuses, AMF helps young adults navigate grief and honor lost loved ones.
The Dinner Party – Connects 21-45-year-olds in grief through peer-led support groups that build lasting relationships. Since 2014, The Dinner Party has connected more than 13,000 grieving individuals, offering a network of peer hosts who create spaces for shared healing and community.
The Dougy Center – Provides a safe space for children, teens, young adults, and families to share experiences surrounding loss. Known for its acclaimed peer support model, The Dougy Center trains individuals and organizations nationally and internationally to support grieving children, setting a "gold standard" in the field of grief support.
End Well – Dedicated to ensuring that people experience end-of-life care that aligns with their values. End Well brings together professionals across design, technology, health, and policy to reframe how society approaches caregiving, grief, and mortality, aiming to make positive end-of-life experiences an integral part of living well.
Experience Camps – Provides free, one-week overnight camps and year-round programs for grieving children who have lost a parent, sibling, or caregiver. Through compassion, connection, and play, Experience Camps equips children with coping skills and a renewed sense of hope and possibility.
Gray for Glioblastoma – A 501(c)(3) nonprofit raising awareness and funds for Glioblastoma research. They have donated over $200,000 to cancer centers like Dana Farber and Duke, while fostering a supportive community through social media and events that provide resources and hope.
Hand to Hold – A national nonprofit offering free support, educational resources, and community for parents before, during, and after a NICU stay. Staffed by NICU graduate and bereaved parents, Hand to Hold provides compassionate care tailored to the unique challenges NICU families face.
OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center – Founded in 1993, OUR HOUSE provides age-appropriate support groups, on-site grief response, and professional training. Programs include school-based groups, Spanish-speaking sessions, and educational resources, supporting individuals of all ages through every stage of grief.
Reimagine – Helps individuals and communities transform adversity, loss, and mortality into meaningful action. Through global, community-driven experiences, Reimagine brings together the arts, healthcare, spirituality, and innovation to foster essential conversations around facing life’s hardest challenges.
